In Concert: Marie & The Antoinettes

Marie and the Antoinettes started out playing Marie’s compositions; her style is a blend of folky guitar chords and heartfelt vocals, with moods ranging from sweet to dark. With other band members adding their flavor to the mix, a more psychedelic, slightly more complex but digestible sound emerged – not devoid of political undertones. Their name is of course meant in an ironic way, and hints at the fact that some of their songs point out inequalities in society. However, Marie also writes (toxic) love song-like stuff, ‘cause what else is there?
