The five children of Mother Johnson present a playful blend of sad rock, happy indie, and sad-happy indie rock that overlies lyrics exploring very deep themes, and not so very deep themes. What else could you ask for? With a heavy bass line that locks her music tightly in place, Mother screams with a diversity of rhythm, catchy, loud, and inquisitive lyrics, and a fullness of melody, with two or even three guitars on stage at one time.
